spent friday running around like a crazy person. up at 3am (bad dream) decided to do some laundry and pkg up some of my pretzels for work. was at work by 5am. went to phoebe's school party at 9...and here are some of the cuties---

then it was back to work til 3 or so...home for like an hour then off to help with a catering. home by 9pm. tis the season i guess right??

ok so marek had the LEAD!!! yes the male lead (ok well it was the only male speaking part in the little play they did but whatever...give me my moment! haha) couldnt have been prouder :) he started reading his part and by the very end he started sounding like bruce willis in the 5th element...when he was being interviewed by chris tucker for that radio show thing?! beyond cute! anyway here's some pix from the bless-ed event....

ok so im in love with these earrings...they are wood! not a new concept i know but i love how they make you look like youve gaged (sp?) out your ears without having to ACTUALLY do it :) plus the texture jsut looks way cool. ive been doing so much shopping for EVERYONE ELSE...itd be nice to treat myself to a little goodie...im santa's little elf dammit dont i get like a christmas bonus or something?!?! haha oh well---theyll prb be there in a month or so and i can get them with some $$ i get for christmas...but dang it i know id look rockin with those! hmmm i may just have to splurge...

and today's adventure is...

 

chocolate cookie bark! i made this last year and it went over fabulously :) the candy cane cookies were REALLY good...i was actually surprised. thank god above for simple recipes!!!

today is gonna be totally crazy...its the only day i have off to get stuff done b4 all the kids' parties on thurs/friday
so ya im like totally stressed out!! eeek! ive got a big boyscout meeting tonite that is a NO MISS--santa is going to be there :) and tomorrow ive got to go to a scrapbooking event at phoebe's school...i have to go bc it was kinda my idea for a fundraiser ( just kinda wish they wouldnt have booked it THIS close to christmas!!) and wed my little clara-belle will be 4. shes such a special little girl---its so awesome to watch her and phoebe build a little friendship. i hope its just as solid and amazing as the one i have with her momma :) i thank god above for her like EVERY DAY!! if it wasnt for her...well i dont even have to go there. happy monday all--stay warm and toasty!

gonna try this recipe today...looks really cool and yumm-o
it looks really simple too---which is a MAJOR requirement

choco candy cane cookies


1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese, softened
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2-1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 squares BAKER'S Semi-Sweet Chocolate, melted
1 pkg. (6 squares) BAKER'S White Chocolate
12 hard peppermint candies, crushed


HEAT oven to 350ºF. Beat cream cheese, butter, sugar and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until blended. Add flour and baking soda; mix well. Blend in semi-sweet chocolate. (Dough will be stiff.)

ROLL tablespoonfuls of dough into 52 balls; roll each into 3-inch-long rope. Place, 2 inches apart, on baking sheets, bending top of each slightly to resemble candy cane.

BAKE 10 to 12 min. or until puffed and set; cool 5 min. on baking sheets. Transfer to wire racks; cool completely. Melt white chocolate; drizzle over cookies. Sprinkle with crushed candies. Let stand until chocolate is firm.

thats what this really was. i SOBBED the entire way thru this documentary--it had such a frantic momentum it totally gets you totally caught up in and emotionally attached. its a beautiful tribute and horrific display of how a system could fail, and affect the most innocent and pure. everyone should see this movie

black friday approacheth

 

i will join the masses again this year. put on my war paint and stand in line with all the other crazies. for i LIVE for this kind of maddening insanity. yes i will stand in line for 2.5hrs just to purchase a coveted DS/WII game for $7.
i will wake up at 230AM and stand in the FREEZING cold waiting for kohls etc to open. i just dont think its christmas time without this sick crazy ritual. its a primal thing i believe. hunting and gathering...and nothing says victory when you get the LAST littlest pet shop figurine on the shelf and you know some poor soul behind you will have to get a polly pocket instead.

GOD I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS :)

just got done with both kiddos parties (whew!) just takin a breather before we head out tonite---its gonna be like 70 degrees out --- the warmest halloween weve had since like EVER!!! the kids want me to wear my witch costume tonite---well see :) i feel bad for the people up at work though---there was only 1 cake decorator today :( and this is like one of the busiest days of the year! scary huh!? haha im sure they lived without me though.

weve got practice tonite...im really proud of him. since ive been pushing him a bit ive been seeing some hustle in him. its way better than when he first started and was crying in the goal...playing spiderman in the backfield etc. hahaha! i took these at the last game he played...love watching him in action :)

we had scouts last nite. got lots accomplished--i think ive got 3-4 boys that are gonna get their bobcat badge next monday for the big pack meeting. wooohoo!

marek went to his first boy scout campout this weekend. brad said he had lots of fun...rowing a boat all by himself, carving a pumpkin all by himself, shooting a bb gun all by himself, (hmmm im sensing a theme) anyway good times were had by all and i wish with all my heart i couldve been there

 

 

 

 

pumpkin patch kids

last week we went to the pumpkin patch. glad we went when we did cuz its rained NON STOP this week! not the greatest pix in the world but i thought they needed to have fun more than i needed "awesome pics". the one of phoebe i got was pretty good i think...not bad for my $150 camera ;) ---i digress---any way they both picked out their small pumpkins to decorate themselves. phoebe cut out eyes and a mouth from a mag and glued them on---then scribbled over the whole thing. (yep thats ART!) marek tried to doodle on his like i was on mine and he got frusterated and hid it in his room. mr perfectionist. ill have to make a mental note of that when i start wondering "whats that funky odor coming from his room?!?!"

fire safety week

when i was in kindergarten we did fire safety week. the firemen came to talk to us about fire safety and show off their gear and truck. they put on the whole suit--face mask and all--and it FREAKED me out so bad that i faked sick. they called my mom and she took me home. this time (20+ years later) im not freaked out. i told marek that story and he said "its ok mom..its just a mask--but ill keep you safe just in case". gotta luv my boy! :) so i took off work so i could watch my first grader enjoy the fire stuff.
