best road sign EVER

 

i love this...somewhere in texas (maybe austin...not sure) some mischeivious little hackers got into some of the road signs and changed what they said...now why cant that happen when IM stuck in traffic for 2 hrs?! lol

when a corndog is just a corndog

sometimes you just know youre getting ripped of and you just do it anyway. like when you go to the fair and the kids are begging for a corn dog. now NORMALLY that corn dog is like 99cents but since its the FAIR its $6 for the same thing. what do ya do?? you pony up the $6 for the corndog (begrudgingly) because thats just what you do. and then you call your friends (or post on your blog) about how the kids had a great time at the fair but you ended up paying $6 for a freakin corndog! and thats totally OK to do :) it might hurt the little corndog vendors feelings a bit cuz they spent a whole 10 seconds making the stinkin thing, but it doesnt change the fact that its still a 99cent corndog that you paid out the nose for :) its ok for things to fall short of expectations...(even if the sign said "best corn dog EVER!" lol and even if the sign just said "meh...its a pretty good corndog") and for you as a CONSUMER to feel that somehow you got the short end of the stick (haha) and verbally express that.
and NEXT time we go to the fair...we wont eat the $6 corndog...well eat before we go :)

she just fanned the flames of my "girl crush" last nite...she totally got him to admit that he in fact DID take part in quid pro quo....amazing

yep the DREADED valentines day....i cant escape it. it comes every year jsut like mothers day does. i found this little jewel and it made it a little better though. they are called "bittersweets"---valentines for the rest of us. the whole site is just dripping with sarcasm and disdain...my kind of place :)
they come in 3 different collections--dejected dysfunctional and dumped---and the flavors made me lol

what i did this weekend

this past sat was marek's big 7th bday. we did it a sugar rush--the same place we did phoebes...and needless to say i wont be doing THAT ever again! they were totally unprepared and if i hadnt been so industrious and MADE the hats and mushroom pouches and moustaches and the game plus the CAKE and invites my party wouldve been a TOTAL disappointment. they didnt even cut any off the price for not having the MARIO theme i asked for (just blue plates and red and blue balloons---wouldnt be such a big deal but i specifically ASKED and they said no prb) so anyway lesson learned--now for all the fun stuff...

gearing up

 

this last week has been really hectic...and this week isnt gonna be better. marek's bday is this week and even though im planning a party at sugar rush (which does everything for you) im a super control freak and cheap too so i have to do it all on my own :) so basically im just renting the space and people :) anywho im really getting excited about his cake and different little deals im doing for the boys. marek asked to invite a girl to his party EEEEK! shes really cute too...his report card was amazing too (as always) ohhh also im planning on going back to school!!! classes started today so i know i missed this semester but im cool with that. the point is that im doing something ive wanted to do for a really really really long time...the time is just rite....so im waiting for that stuff to start (financial aid etc--you know all the fun stuff) im thinking phoebe might be a little jealous about big bro's party so im hoping that we can distract her a bit. she loves him so much and wants to be jsut like him...boyscouts is tonite---i really wish i hadnt agreed to be a den mom...cant wait to pass the torch to someone else next year!! haha its just so much to handle working full time and planning all that stuff (esp when i have to work on weekends!) this year is the year of ME. i know that sounds selfish and self centered but ive been on the back burner for so long im ready to actually say NO to people and it jsut be because i dont want to have to mess with it...no other reason at all :) and not feel guilty about it either! i really am starting to feel like things are becoming balanced and aligned...totally harmoneous. its gonna be a good year i think...

got these today...well they kinda look like this except with SS posts instead of the wood. they are TOTALLY FAB!!! best earrings ive owned in YEARS!!!

went to see these guys on NYE...it was a "glorified jam session" but good times were had by all :)

and i have no idea where i saw this but its a william sonoma pan. since my kiddos and me are totally obsessed with acorns i thought this was a totally cute idea...

im so ready for the kids to go back to school....sigh (hahaha)
