miss betty's annual egg hunt

all the kids look forward to this all year...my best friend's mom throws this rad shindig every year. theres always a TON of awesome food and games and prizes galore. this year we did potato sack racing and it was so funny watching all the kids hop around in those sacks!! marek being the super competitive kid he is got really upset about not winning--but he didnt quit--he just kept trying and trying...he tied the last round! WTG BUDDY :) then it was the "pushing the egg with your nose" game...he decided that hes not very good at that...but he told me that hes good at math and thats ok :) what a trooper! and of course theres my little fashionista phoebe with my shades on---shes officially adopted those so i need to get another pair i guess :)

 

 

 

 

most of the time i try to keep my blog pretty upbeat. but i saw this news story this morning and just felt totally SICKEND by it.

its about a couple who went thru IVF to avoid having a boy bc they are carriers for a rare blood disorder that affects only males. and now they have a BOY and are SUING bc of it!!!! this is just my opinion but....im in full favor of science progressing for the betterment of the human race---totally for it. but i just believe there are certain thing you shouldnt be messin with....this is one of them. they tried so hard to NOT have a boy (and i can undertand why---they didnt want him to suffer thru life) but now they have this little blessing and they are suing bc hes not a girl?! its NATURE and GOD people. i guess i just dont understand the whole lawsuit part of it. children are such a blessing and i know so many people who have difficulty trying to conceive that its upsetting to see people complain about it.

because im pretty much knee deep in egg dye, bow making, spring break madness, the paint fiasco in my entryway that has now spilled into my bathroom (dont ask!) egg hunts and other eastery adventures and activities i prb wont be blogging for a few days so heres my lol cat friday on thursday :) have a great weekend!!

 

the human body experiment

 

this is what we did last weekend. talk about WOW factor...they had a bunch of cadavers in different states of dissection and you could actually see how intricate and amazing our bodies really are and how we take little things like walking and even breathing for granted! i really wanted to take pix but they had several security guards and cameras ALL over the exhibit so that was a no-go. the way they had some of these bodies displayed were just pure ART. some people thought it was gruesome but if you look thru the eyes of science and art it was just beautiful.

i thought it would be a good idea for us 3 to bond making cookies...

well i was 1/2 right...i ended up doing the actual MAKING part and the kids dumped the sprinkles on :)

i kept trying to tell them to not lick the spoon with the sprinkles on it---but i think they have selective hearing or something!

snot is just falling out of my face!!! i know prb TMI but its really bad for some reason this year. its also spring fever time too. i always get it REALLY REALLY BAD...so im trying hard to stay on track :)
oh and i packed up my rainbow swap stuff today and phoebe helped...heres a sneek peak (i think imight actually be spelling that wrong--haha)

this is a fantastic craft to do with kids. and SUPER cheap!! i have like zero spring or easter decorations and thought that i needed some. so i grabbed some sticks from the backyard and spraypainted them white (ISH) then i got some eggs from HL and let the kiddos go crazy painting them (not too bad for 2 and 6!) then i just tied them on with some ribbon and used some of my old primas i had from days of yore (you remember those days right?!) haha anyway the kids loved doing it and so did i. now it looks like spring :)
